An affiliate program is a way
for website owners to generate revenue from their website.
Many online businesses have an affiliate program and they will
pay website owners a commission to drive traffic and sales to
their website.
The webmaster (website owner) is required to apply for the
companies affiliate program and if they are accepted, the business
will provide special links and banner codes for the website
owner to place on their website.
There are a few different ways that you can earn from the
different affiliate programs, they are:
- Leads - The company will pay you if a visitor
to your website enters their email address to sign up for
an offer or some other task that does not generally cost
money to do.
- Clicks - The company will pay you if a visitor
clicks on the link on your website and goes to the companies
website.
- Sales - The company will pay you when a visitor
to your website clicks on the link and purchases something
on the companies website.
